Pebbles restaurant

A meal for four at the recently opened Pebbles restaurant in Eastbourne, including a nearly 10% tip, cost £150; this included four starters, four mains and two desserts, with a bottle of prosecco and two beers.

The restaurant specialises in seafood and only one of us likes shellfish; he was very pleased with his fruits de mer main, his only criticism being that he thought that the mayonnaise served with it seemed to be shop-bought (although the waitress said it was made on the premises). I had the sea bass which was good but not spectacular: it came with peas cooked 'the French way' with snippets of bacon and onion and baby new potatoes halved. Steph loved her beef burger, particularly the sauce (she had seconds of that) and Angie enjoyed her chicken breast on jasmine rice.

The service was delightful.

Would I recommend it? If you love seafood, absolutely.
